How do I connect to my AIS FTP directory?

We will need to define the AIS site, so open Site Manager; File --> Site Manager.

We will now apply the settings for AIS SFTP connections.

Create a New Site;

Fill in the values like this;

Press Save and Exit.

To open the Site Manager, go to File -- Site Manager.

Highlight  the AIS setting to select it for connection.

Don't forget to type in your password. Check the box to make it not save it from now on. That is a good practice, in case someone else uses your PC, and due to the 90 day AIS password change enforced.

Once you press the connect button, you will be asked to save a key;

Click Yes. You will then have it stored, and won't be asked again.

Once connected, you will have a screen like this;

The connection window is devided into 4 main parts, one of which is two parts.

The top activity window is the Command Log . It reports the status of the connection commands.

Below this are the Local Site and the Remote Site panes. These show the contents of you PC, and your file space on the AIS server, respectively.

The Local Site pane is devided into two sections; the top sections are your drives, and you expand your list by clicking on the cross haired small square next to 'Desktop'.  The lower section is the directory listings under the local drive you have slected.

Here is an example after I've expanded the desktop and the drives list, and selected a folder.

How do I transfer files?

FileZilla supports drag and drop of files between the Remote Site Pane and the Local Site Pane.

In this example, users.txt has been selected in the remote site directory, and is being dragged to the remote site folder 'Misc'.

After I have dropped into the misc folder, the Transfer Status activity window reports on the progress of the downloads. You will also notice that the Command Log is scrolling new commands used by the software to talk to the server.
